Polaris Solutions Camo Mesh Revisited

The first blog post was about Israeli Polar Solutions camo mesh:

Finally I took some photos about this material in more natural environment:

On the left Polaris Solutions reversible mesh with desert side up. On the right Saab Barracuda desert netting.

Polaris Solutions.

Saab Barracuda:

Some distance.

Both turned, Polaris Solutions has now greener and darker woodland pattern up and Saab Barracuda presents urban pattern.

Again some distance.

Polaris Solutions “rocks around rocks”, no matter which pattern is up. The mesh is stiff and it is easy to mould to look like a rock or a boulder. Some examples:

Generally Scandinavian rocks and boulders are quite dark and grey and covered with moss and lichen, so greener and darker woodland side of Polaris Solutions mesh fabric is better choice while building an observation post among boulders. However, even the lighter and sandier desert pattern is not a bad option, especially when not in direct sunlight.

Finnish m05 vs CADPAT

This is a non-scientific visual comparison of two digital patterns made for northern coniferous forests. Canadian CADPAT is now rather old pattern and newer patterns like Finnish m05 have more sophisticated pattern design.

M05 top, CADPAT bottom.

M05 on left, CADPAT on right.

M05 disappears quite fast when distance grows.

However, with darker background like spruce tree CADPAT disappears too. M05 on left, CADPAT on right on the same branch.

And here.

An another example here.

So, personally I would choose Finnish m05 because it works better at open areas and with lighter background. CADPAT is still good choice for northern forests, but it has a tendency to appear a “dark blob” without a dark background (like spruce).

M05 mesh fabric is available from this excellent seller:

Varusteleka.com

And cloaks made from same material can be ordered from the same shop:

Commercial M05 camouflage netting

This is a commercial camouflage netting with Finnish M05 camouflage printing. This particular netting is claimed to be NIR-compliant (not to glare when viewed through NVDs).

And more distance:

It is very lightweight ripstop fabric, easy to carry and it moves in wind like real foliage. It is also quite effective visually.

Seller: ORIGOPRO, Finland.

Mitznefet

This is an Israeli mitznefet, helmet cover which purpose is to break the outline of helmet and help in the camouflage.
